OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE WITH LET'S ELEVATE'S PRO CHAMPIONS ("PRO CHAMPS") NSBE JR. STEM CHAPTER

There are multiple opportunities to volunteer with Let's Elevate's NSBE Jr. STEM (Science, Technology, Math and Engineering) Chapter focused on bringing STEM to young students in grades 5 - 8. 

PRO Champions typically meets every Saturday from 9AM - Noon during the school year and also participates in the Annual NSBE Convention during March of each year. Here are roles:

STEM Mentor
Assist PRO Champs Facilitators in teaching STEM concepts from week to week, and in preparation for local and national NSBE competitions.

Leadership Mentor
Assist PRO Champs Facilitators in teaching leadership and teamwork principles from week to week.

Chaperone
Accompany PRO Champ members on local field trips. Under no circumstances shall chaperones drive children in their own vehicles, outside of their own child/children.

REQUIREMENTS TO SERVE
1. Satisfactory background check updated annually.
2. For STEM volunteers: background or current coursework in STEM is strongly preferred.
3. Ability to model professional decorum.
4. Ability to teach concepts in a variety of ways.
5. Passion for teaching children.
